Talk:Tips: Answering Badge Prompts and Good Writing Practices

I believe that this page needs to be reworded a bit so it is more informative without saying "I", "we", or "you". It reads very much like an essay, and not a general article on tips for the badges. Tanner 13:15, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

I have replaced the intro to get rid of all the first person stuff. However, the rest of the page probably still needs a workover. Robert'); DROP TABLE Students;-- 13:29, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
My apologies for the use of multiple tenses. While I was writing this I was under the impression that this page was to be a collection of advice. As such I separated factual definitions from explanations and interpretations by including writer's voice within the context of any explanations, especially since this is all provided from myself and not any outside sources, and is therefore mostly opinion (educated opinion, mind you). You're welcome to edit the entries if you feel the tenses are out of place (it is a wiki, after all!). Msmith312 19:02, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
Made some minor grammatical corrections across the page. If anyone has objections to the altered work, be sure to say so. Msmith312 19:12, 18 April 2011 (UTC)

Personally, I find the picture to be distracting. I don't know why, but the question marks seem to bother me. It might be the colors in the picture. I'll look for a better visual to communicate the purpose of the page. --Punnava3 19:29, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

Yes, I also find the picture to be distracting. I think it is because the page is pretty much black text on a white background, the red question mark is obstrusive. Perhaps changing the color to something softer would make that annoyance go away. - Andrew

I think this page is good, it is necessary to know what each of the different things means when filling out the plethora of badges we are required to do. --Norangio3 23:21, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

I agree. This page helps with developing the best answers for gold badges when, all else aside, the only thing keeping our badge from obtaining the gold level is the "writing" behind it.

This page is much appreciated!!! Very helpful and helped be climb the badge latter from applying bronze to gold!!!

Thank you so much. I was having a hard time trying to figure out what the badges were asking for half of the time.

This is really awesome content to show what badges were asking. I think it's a good idea to put it on the front page.
